VENUS AND MARS

Idle observation from my morning walk: Women who jog gossip while they run. Men who jog do not.

Do men speak in forms that are "not gossip," or do they remain entirely silent?

Please clarify. :-)

Perhaps there is a small sample problem? My son runs with his roommates and friends, both daily and in marathons. I suspect they talk. Recently they have begun giving flowers to random passers-by as they run....just to be friendly.

I wonder about the influence of region (Boston area vs. Chapel Hill), age (20-somethings), or type of terrain (city streets vs. long hill)?

So much for casual observation?

Jefferson said walking is the best exercise. But one may run, or one may jog, or one may walk in certain forms of communication without interrupting the pace of another. Digital is a form of communications only heard by those who read the electrons correctly. The ipod of my neighbor does not worry me if he keeps his earplugs on. The best thing though is to enjoy the journey.
